Dear Kazuhisa Miyashita

IOTA has recently taken over responsibility for the collection and reduction of lunar occultations.

For technical reasons, all observations received by ILOC since 2002 need to be re-reduced. ILOC has provided IOTA with all observation reports they have received for this period. You are receiving this message as a result of the re-reduction process. Please note that the residuals will be different to those previously sent to you by ILOC. This is mainly due to how the limb corrections are applied.

You should send any new occultation reports (including past observations you have not yet reported to ILOC) to one (and ONLY one) of the following addresses. Use the address that most nearly corresponds to your region.
lunarocc@spamnottpg.com.au
lunarocc@spamnottpg.com.au
moonocc@spamnotgmail.com
LunOccult@spamnotIOTA-ES.de
lunocc@spamnotoptik.mtk.nao.ac.jp
breit_ideas@spamnotpoyntsource.com
breit_ideas@spamnotpoyntsource.com
Remove spamnot from above email address.

Any observations of grazing occultations should be sent to
Mitsuru.Soma@spamnotnao.ac.jp

Please note that the format for occultation reports has changed, and handwritten reports can no longer be accepted. You can use any of the following tools to create a report in the new format:
1. Occult : http://www.lunar-occultations.com/iota/occult4.htm
2. LOW [Lunar Occultation Workbench) : http://low4.doa-site.nl/index.html
3. Lunar report editor : http://www.lunar-occultations.com/iota/lunarreport.htm
4. an Excel-based report : http://www.timerson.net/IOTA/
Thankyou for you occultation report. Attached is a preliminary reduction of your observations.

Please review the values in the O-C column. The O-C value will usually fall within the range -1.00 to +1.00. Occassionally the O-C can be a little larger - usually in regions where the limb correction is poorly known. Values greater than 2.00 usually indicates one of the following:

- there is an error in the date or time, or in the star number;

- if the star is a double star, that the reduction has not been corrected for the component; or

- the occultation was missed - usually as a result of the observing conditions.

If there are any corrections to be made to your observations, please advise me of these by return EMail as soon as possible.

The observations will be added to the main file of occultations within the next few months, and will then be available over the internet. Ultimately your observations will be archived with the Astronomical Data Centres.

Explanation of columns 'PhGrMrCeDb'
Ph - Phase of the event.
1st character D = disappear, R = reappear, B = blink, F = flash, M = Miss
2nd character D = dark limb, B = bright limb, U = in umbra of lunar eclipse
Gr - G if the event is during a graze
Mr - Method of timing and recording. Main types are:
G = video with time insertion, V = video with other time linking
S = visual using a stopwatch, T = visual using a tape recorder, E = eye/ear
Ce - Certainty. 1 = certain, 2 = may be spurious, 3 = most likely spurious
Db - Double star indication - West, East, North, South, Brighter, Fainter
